Love, love, loved it and couldn’t stop listening. The many heartwarming characters are all intriguing and so well developed that each of them draws you into their own story. This book is intricately woven with so many stories within it bringing out history and the social/political challenges of the 1950’s particularly for women. A fascinating listen and worth listening to again. The narrator, Saskia, simply does an incredible job of all the different characters and their voices. The best narrator I’ve listened to by far.

I’ve always loved historical fiction and with Kate Quinn being one of the best, reading her books is always a journey, a riveting, educational, enjoyable journey. This was my first time listening to her audiobook and I’m now a fan of Saskia Maarleveld too. The way she brought the characters to life and gave each of them such distinctive individuality, I didn’t want it to end!!

Loved how the characters each had their own story and were woven together to tell this story. The narrator was spectacular (one of my very favourites)! Kate Quinn is at the top of my favourite authors. Sad when it ended. Loved the conversation at the end of the book. Very well done!
