Histoire
Zeus has punished his son Apollo - god of the sun, music, archery, poetry, and more - by casting him down to earth in the form of a gawky, acne-covered 16-year-old mortal named Lester. The only way Apollo can reclaim his rightful place on Mount Olympus is by restoring several Oracles that have gone dark. Histoire
It's not easy being Apollo, especially when you've been turned into a human and banished from Olympus. On his path to restoring five ancient oracles and reclaiming his godly powers, Apollo (a.k.a. Lester Papadopoulos) has faced both triumphs and tragedies. Now, his journey takes him to Camp Jupiter in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the Roman demigods are preparing for a desperate last stand against the evil Triumvirate of Roman emperors. Hazel, Reyna, Frank, Tyson, Ella, and many other old friends will need Apollo's aid to survive the onslaught.

Annabeth is terrified. Just when she’s about to be reunited with Percy - after six months of being apart, thanks to Hera - it looks like Camp Jupiter is preparing for war. As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon figurehead, Leo’s fantastical creation doesn’t appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans.

Description
Book three in the number-one New York Times best-selling Trials of Apollo series
The formerly glorious god Apollo, cast down to earth in punishment by Zeus, is now an awkward mortal teenager named Lester Papadopoulos. In order to regain his place on Mount Olympus, Lester must restore five Oracles that have gone dark. But he has to achieve this impossible task without having any godly powers and while being duty-bound to a confounding young daughter of Demeter named Meg. Thanks a lot, Dad.
With the help of some demigod friends, Lester managed to survive his first two trials, one at Camp Half-Blood, and one in Indianapolis, where Meg received the Dark Prophecy. The words she uttered while seated on the Throne of Memory revealed that an evil triumvirate of Roman emperors plans to attack Camp Jupiter. While Leo flies ahead on Festus to warn the Roman camp, Lester and Meg must go through the Labyrinth to find the third emperor - and an Oracle who speaks in word puzzles - somewhere in the American Southwest. There is one glimmer of hope in the gloom-filled prophecy: The cloven guide alone the way does know. They will have a satyr companion, and Meg knows just who to call upon....
Ce que les critiques en disent
"Just as he has been for the previous two audiobooks in Riordan's Trials of Apollo series, narrator Robbie Daymond is wholly in sync with Apollo's voice.... Daymond creates individual voices for the large cast of supporting characters, including satyr guide Grover, demigod Meg, and dryad Aloe, and listeners will find it hard to press pause as he delivers every twist and turn in Apollo's continuing adventures." Monotonous
I dont know if it's the story or performer, and I know it's a single pov, but the book and series portion is very slow. all characters seem the same. My son loves it, but I can't pay attention. We've listened to every myth series available by Riordan, and this is the only one I legitimately dislike.

Not Sure How I Feel!
First off I liked the story but there was a drastic change in this installment. Book was much darker than I was expecting not that it was a bad thing but I did cry several times and that’s what has me feeling lost. Still I will be eagerly awaiting the next book. Oh yes and Apollo is still whiny but he is growing up.

Where’s the fun?
I have read every book in the series, starting way back when with Percy Jackson. This one was a letdown. It dragged on and on. Apollo whined more and more. And the two significant deaths still depressed me. Not the enjoying read that I expect from Rick Riordan. The best parts were the clever chapter titles, and the narration.

Amazing and heartbreaking
This story has once again reduced me to an emotional wreck. Robbie Daymonds performance is uncanny and truly brings these characters to life. As a hardcore Riordan fan, this book is one of his most if not the most addictive, gripping and emotionally shattering of his many works. This book brings the series into darker waters with more mature concepts, but fear not, it is worth every second and every page. 5 stars 💔
