This book is a seriously bleak and difficult read. It argues that human consciousness is a horrible mistake and the root of all our suffering. It can feel a bit repetitive and dense at times, making it a bit of a slog.

But if you're already inclined to see the world in a pessimistic light, it can feel weirdly validating. It’s like taking off the "everything is fine" mask.

I'd only recommend it to a specific person who can handle staring into the void. It's not enjoyable, but it's a powerful and unsettling experience that sticks with you.
