I like the spunky main character and the playfulness of the characters. Romantic but cute.

Just a heads up that while the story is kind of interesting and the narrator is good, the main male character is abusive. And maybe what irritated me the most is that it’s laughed off as a humorous and normal thing for a man to do to people he loves. The book was published in 1989, so maybe that’s why it doesn’t feel right 30 years later.
