Jake Buchanan is a successful writer with an eight-year-old daughter and an imploding marriage.

Jake knows the woman sitting next to him on his business flight to Denver - he just can't figure out how he knows her. Clara Stowe isn't in Jake's line of work and didn't go to college with him. They have nearly nothing in common apart from a deep and shared certainty that they've met before. As their airplane conversation deepens, both struggle to figure out what circumstances could have possibly brought them together. Then, in a revelation that sends Jake reeling, Clara admits she's traveling to the Colorado mountains to kill herself, and she disappears into the crowded airport immediately after landing.

The Dead Girl in 2A is the story of what happens to Jake and Clara after they get off that plane, and the manipulative figure who has brought them together decades after they first met. Intensely creepy, beautifully written, and full of Carter Wilson's signature whom-can-you-trust paranoia, this is a psychological thriller unlike any you've read before.

I think my suspension of disbelief was strained beyond what I could handle. Scientific experiments on children based on no evidence? Familiarization of kids with death with no suggestion of why it was necessary, except to creat a creepy vibe? I have been a research scientist in my day, and this didn't work for me. The villains were obvious and there was nothing really unexpected that happened, except weird stuff that didn't make sense to me. if you can get engrossed in the characters, that might carry you through, but this wasn't my cup of tea. nNo shade on the performances though! Those were professional and enjoyable.

This was a creative story with lots of twists and turns that kept me engaged right from the beginning. I would recommend this one!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was an unusual storyline, and, grasping, for the memories Was most intriguing. It certainly kept me listening to the end.

The performance of the story was great. I am a big fan of multiple voice casts. However, the story itself left something to be desired. I found much of the plot hard to believe, and even though there can be charm in not having all the answers, it felt as though many narrative decisions were made for effect and not for legitimate plot purposes. There aren’t many surprising twists to this story (you see them coming and wonder why the characters don’t) but I must admit I did listen to the end to see where the story went.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I know it isn't a thriller. The story is definitely very different. Unique characters and story line though. It was easy to follow but quite slow at times.
