Okay… I did not expect to fall this hard for Quinn and Dylan. The Neighbor from Hell series is already one of my all-time favorites, and I honestly thought nothing could top Rory and Connor from Checkmate… but wow, this one came dangerously close (if not tied 👀).
We’ve got that perfect mix of enemies-to-lovers and “we’ve been obsessed with each other since childhood but refuse to admit it.” Add in nemesis neighbors, chaotic childhood history (hello glitter and super glue disaster 😂), and a forced marriage ultimatum? I was hooked instantly.
Quinn and Dylan are both a mess in the best way. He’s the hardworking, secretly smitten hero, always stepping in to save her—even when she drives him insane. And Dylan? Total trouble magnet, chaotic energy queen, and honestly… the fact that she’s just as food-obsessed as a Bradford male had me living for every scene. The food stealing?? ICONIC. This is the first time we see a heroine match that Bradford “curse,” and it was so fun.
The setup is deliciously messy: family pressure, revenge motivations, and a marriage of convenience meant to secure control of the company. But of course, feelings start creeping in, lines blur, and what begins as a deal turns into something much deeper. The humor is classic Mathewson—ridiculous, over-the-top, and laugh-out-loud funny—but it’s balanced with genuine emotion and that slow realization of “oh no… I actually love you.”
The romance? Sweet, fun, and full of tension. The chemistry between them felt effortless, and their banter was everything. You can feel the history between them, which makes every moment hit harder.
Honestly, I just love everything R.L. Mathewson writes, but this one really stood out for me. It had the humor, the chaos, the heart—and a couple I didn’t expect to adore this much.
This was pure comfort read gold 💕
