The very sudden “ending” takes away from an otherwise great story. Feels like a random point where the author was satisfied with a word count rather than completing any story arc. If this was the end point for book 1, it could have been edited much better to tell the story of the FMC’s journey to stop relying on men to save her.

Narrator is great overall, though at times I had to go back and relisten because with her dead-pan delivery style my mind would wander off.

Cliff Hanger “ending” lands out of the blue mid-story

Phenomenal book! It had a few surprises that I didn’t see coming. Despite what other reviews say I think the ending was very fitting and definitely set the plot for the next book. (Which I am so excited for btw). I really did like the romance in the story as well.

The narration good as long as there weren’t any whispering lines. I found if I had my volume high enough to hear the whispering the other parts were way to loud. I just opted for not hearing the quieter parts.

This is your next read for sure!

I’m not sure why the FMC is attracted to the MMC. He has no personality or wit, he is just rude with a very dark personality. Why would you be interested in someone who is literally giving you nothing? For an attraction to be believable, both characters have to be giving a hint of something more beneath the surface and I’m just not getting that at all. It started out strong and the narration is fantastic but the unlikable characters and slow plot line aren’t for me.
