The Doctor's Wife is BACK as the Doctor's Widow!!!
OMG this one was just as good as the first one!
I loved it. Have you read book one? If so read on, if you haven't then stop reading this and go read the book! I'll say it again, this isn't my normal genre but I am in love with Daniel's writing and will automatically YES to any book he releases from now on.
In The Doctor's Widow, as the title suggests, we are following Fern who has apparently not only gotten away with murder but cashed in a huge life insurance policy, found a new man and is generally just living her best life. How lucky that she found someone as great as Roger when she least expected to find anyone?! So lucky she thinks she'll mention having a baby soon, after all she is about to be 40. Isn't that too neat and tidy though? Is Roger all he is cracked up to be?
Sarah Durham and Luke R Francis MAKE this audiobook. Their performances are top notch!

Two books
You gotta read both books. This is number 2... This is an exciting suspensful 2 book series. It's really clever. You won't be disappointed. It was Awesome!!! Read book one first....

Not a great listen
The story never really gelled for a lot of reasons. Frankly it’s pretty boring. I wish I’d read more reviews before purchasing.

Stupefied, disappointed, perplexed
Unfortunately this was probably the poorest written plot of any psychological thriller I have yet to read. The characters were one demential and the story was so lame, predictable and simple that I am shocked that it was actually edited and published.

Sad, and took some wrong turns
A lot of problems in this one. After all she'd been through, would Fern really have been so unquestioningly trusting of Roger? And why hasn't she discovered that he's really Greg? But the biggest mystery is that she confessed everything to him! Fern is too circumspect, not spontaneous, for that slip up.
Obviously, she's guilty, but Drew and Alice played it all wrong too. Instead of telling their spouses about their relationship, and leaving them so they could be together, and just deal with the consequences, they carried on in secret (so they thought) while constantly hurting their partners, instead of just a clean break. Of course Drew couldn't leave Fern because she knew of all his crimes. Plus, Drew and Alice thought Rory was ill, and failed to get him the medical attention they thought he needed, hoping to get him out of the way.
So, the point is, Alice is someone you feel terribly sorry for, but she isn't completely innocent.
Fern is really the one the listener spends the most time with in both books, so it's not pleasant to see her in the predicament she finds herself in. Sad.
I'll probably listen to the next book in this series, and I hope it has Fern in better circumstances.

Nowhere as Good as the Doctor's Wife
I was disappointed after looking forward to this. I also, as in this the first book, disliked the male narrator. He talked exceedingly fast and with his strong accent and slight tendency to mumble, I missed a lot of what he was saying.

Better than the first
This is the first time I’ve enjoyed a sequel more than the original. From beginning to end it keeps you entertained. Loved!

Good but not as good as the Doctor’s Wife
I love the Fern character - bad/ good
I hope the next sequel does not make Alice the winner as I prefer Fern to be on top.
