This book was immensely sporadic and chaotic. The pacing was either really slow or overwhelming, with too much happening at once. Despite having so much backstory and information constantly thrown at you, it was incredibly boring and dull. None of the characters were truly investigating or looking for clues; they just ran around panicked, and things kind of fell into their laps.
There weren't many characters, and considering the story is told from multiple points of view, there were only about three side characters, making it incredibly easy to guess who did it since they were the main suspect from the start. It was also very obvious how the events from 25 years earlier fit in, as there were only two other leading women, and one of the girls' backstory was already known. None of the characters were likable or sympathetic. They only cared about themselves and what would happen if their lies were exposed. Honestly, I was really disappointed.
