Good story, great narrator. Worth buying.

I liked this story. The plot was good and held my interest most of the time. I found the story repetitive at times. Not one of her best but she's such an excellent writer that her third best is still quite good. I really enjoy the narrator's style. She has a different voice for each character and she reads with such convincing emotion. She brought the book up a notch.

Wrong narrator

I do enjoy Jilly Bond as a narrator--just not for this story. Her voice is too light and "jokey" for an Erskine book in general, and some of the voices are just plain silly. I'm not finished yet, and not entirely happy with the story; I'm having a very tough time figuring out if my disengagement in the story is related to the narration.

Riveting but disappointing ending

I was swept up in this tale waking in the night to listen some more but the ending was too simple and felt a bit lazy. The main nasty protagonist never really had her story completed and there were no surprises at the end.
