The Most Important Book Some of Us Will Ever Read
If you're in the prison of nicotine addiction, with your health eroding and your self respect dwindling, read the book! I was the Babe Ruth/Tom Brady/Wayne Gretzky/Magic Johnson of smoking. I don't smoke anymore. I don't think about it at all. This book saved me and three other members of my family. Allen Carr is a saint. Now pretty please, with sugar on top, read the f@##$% book.

I'm a Non-smoker, now.
I wanted to be mad at audible for preassigning a review on my behalf, but this is spot on:
I got to say that Allen Carr was a brilliant man and his way of seeing the filthy habit purely makes sense and just helped me realize how I was falling for it. Try this book out, it won't leave you disappointed!
In my own words, I got six chapters in and couldn't even be bothered to smoke anymore. I'm sure that 90% of others that have listened or read this think the same thing. But he puts the addiction into such a gorgeous light that it's nearly impossible to ignore the fact we tend to know exactly what we're doing, we just aren't educated about it enough to help us figure out what's going on. This man would have done wonders working in the schools, making a mandatory class about this would save so many from an early mistake of even starting the habit.
I'm 3 weeks a Non-smoker, and havent had a single one since chapter 6. I love it, I feel amazing, my energy is through the roof and I feel fantastic. Withdrawals didnt feel to exist, I literally enjoyed the "withdrawal symptoms" as they helped me realize I was healing and restoring my control on my life.

Changed my life!
I was close to a pack a day smoker and enjoyed it! I knew the heath ramifications of it as my mom had just need diagnosed with severe emphysema and put on oxygen 24 hours a day. Smoked for over 40 Years!
This did not just happen over night, for a very long time I have not enjoyed smoking but it was my gateway to stress relief. I always thought that maybe if my situation was much less stressful I would perhaps one day quit. Way easier said than done as many of you already know. What happened next to me was a shock to everyone. I am a healthy active 54 year old with one vice. Smoking. Over the Christmas Holidays had heartburn issues and was treated for Pylori bacteria. Medicine didn't help and needed more medical help. After checking into emergency, I was told I had been suffering Angina and had had several heart attacks. 99% blockage. Ya after the initial shock of those words resonating through my head, I needed a new regiment and had to quit smoking. How the f*** am I going to do this?. I was already on nicotine replacement therapy after having a stent put in and recovering in the Hospital. I was afraid that I would be on the patch for the rest of my life. This is where this book comes in for me. A friend told me to check it out and I did and for me, even better was that it was available in audio and that there was a free trial offer. Stars started to align and I started listening to this book over and over again with my ear buds. The first thing I did was get off the patch and listened to his instruction. 3-4 weeks is the absolute key! I'm the last person to ever believe that this would help, and it must have because it has been 8 months and counting. Ya I still crave it almost all the time, but now I can manage the demon in my head. It really does have a lot to do with your mind. Listen to this book over and over again, each time you will pick up something new. So stars aligned and thanks to this book, I am on the road to a new lifestyle. Hey it's not easy but it's totally possible. You Have To Want To Quit! Find your reason and keep telling it to yourself. 3-4 weeks is a very important piece of information. It can probably help
I'm a non smoker, general practitioner, was curious about this book. It is quite repetitive and not particularly well written, but the repetition might be just what smokers need to help them evolve. I do think that a smoker that keeps an open mind would be able to stop smoking by listening to this.

I know a neuropsychologist who dismissed Allen Carr's method. Yet all her knowledge was from books whilst his knowledge is from life. Yes Allen Carr's method isn't perfect. It's not miraculous. He's often annoying, repetitive, cocky. But guess what? Despite the sneers and the 'Allen Carr ah ah ah ' I stopped after reading his book. Not the first time. Had to read it twice. 33 year smoker here. I'm now done
After 33 years and not a day without, I'm finally done. Granted, I'm on day 3 but no matter what kind of cravings I get I know I'll never smoke again.
Please, don't delay. Even if your only considering quitting soon as I was... when I started listening to this book I thought the guy was whacked to be honest. Quitting smoking FUN AND EASY? ENJOYABLE? Ya right, dude, throw in a bridge and some snake oil whlle your at it.
But who can argue with success. I'm no different then you when it comes to smoking. Our habits may vary but we are both addicted to nicotine. If I can do it after smoking since 12, you can do it. And this is the book that did it for me.
Grateful doesn't begin to explain how much I believe in this. Give it a shot. Hey. What do you have to lose? If it doesn't work then get a refund. And what's five hours compared to how many potential years you could save of your life.

Impressive
It's boring, it's repetitive, it's a drag, I came close to dropping it many times. I listened to that book every day for 20 minutes on my commute to work, all the while smoking and thinking it would never work.
One day it ended, the book was finished, and that was also my last cigarette. I never smoked again. It has been a year and not a craving, not one time did I think to start again.
I'm not easily impressed, but this takes the cake.

Everyone might benefit from this book
Smokers and non smokers, this is a book that tells it like it is. I smoked 50 years and was scared to death to attempt to quit again. Why? Because every time I attempted in the past I became ill and it was so difficult. When I realized it was all the things I was using, the gum, patch, lozenge ,___, _____,____, name it, to assist me in quitting, that was making me ill each time, I simply really "heard" Mr. Carr when he said (nothing bad will happen to me by quitting smoking). I believed him and after 3 times listening through, I quit. It's been 5 months now and I'm doing great. Hard to believe! I recommend you only tell those who may have skin in the game. The other's just do what you can to avoid until you have a handle on it. There are people who just can't help but try pull you back down again. Sadly. Even them asking how you're doing can trigger you. I've a list now of people I know I can't trust. Like I said it's sad but it's a real behavior we can witness in those we otherwise would believe to be really great people. Crab Potting they call it. Do what you can before hand so those around you are prepared themselves and understand they could either support you in this or wreck it. In the end it's about you and you can do this.
