Emma Lacey and Hanna Fink aren't just two figure skaters at the same small-town Vermont rink; they're best friends. In 2017, Hanna, her eyes set on Olympic glory, travels to Utah for a shot at qualifying for the trials. Meanwhile, Emma stays back to explore a newfound interest in acting. After Hanna dies in an unthinkable tragedy, Emma gives up skating altogether.
In 2022, Emma is pursuing acting in New York City when she agrees to speak at a memorial unveiling at their old rink. Upon her return, she's haunted by memories of Hanna and the life she left behind.
