Description

Humans call them Monument-Makers. An unknown race, they left stunning alien statues scattered on distant planets throughout the galaxy, encoded with strange inscriptions that defy translation. Can't get enough of Jack McDevitt books

Enjoyed this book a lot.
The narrator reads in a way that adds more life to the characters.

Not bad if you love sci-fi

it's alright if you really like sci-fi combined with archeology. some parts of the story seem to trail on for extended periods needlessly but it's a decent story. The narrator makes an attempt and voices for characters but seems to be limited to New Jersey 40's mobster, fine English gentlemen or Russian for men, delicate flower can be added to that list for women. Russian seems to be the ethnic voice regardless of region. The mobster voice for men makes any of the romantic relationships hard to picture because it all seems like a 60 year old man courting a girl half his age.
