Wonderful narration by George Guidall, one of my favourite readers. These stories about Allon are usually tense right up to the last 15 minutes or so; this one seemed to wind down slowly to the end. And there was a lot of retelling of events from past stories, to the point where I wondered if Silva’s editor told him the story was too short and asked him to pad it out to an acceptable length. Beyond these shortcomings, it was a great story.
