I have seen the movie and it is good but man! This is so much better. The characters in this book are so much more alive and the story more in depth. I also loved William Peter Blatty's narration, he makes the characters unbelievably real. If you are a fan of the movie give this a listen, there are gaps in the story you can't get on screen....♨️👹👺😨

I can't imagine a better reading of this book than by the author. I was utterly captivated from start to finish. I love the movie, but this was another level. Graphic and disturbing at times, but you don't listen to a book called The Exorcist expecting puppies and rainbows.

I’ve always been a fan of the movie and this added so many more dimensions to what I understood of the story - great listening to it read by the author as well - giving it that personal connection.

Really well written, but disturbing in many places, as the movie was. There are some elements that work better in book or audiobook form than they did in the movie, however, as well as subtle differences that I think are for the best in the book. I’ll leave that up you to agree or disagree with if you listen to this. Recommended

For any major fan of both the novel and the movie, this audiobook should bring great pleasure. I adored the author's narration, he brought his story to life in the most perfect way, adding depth and imagery to the dialogue and inner monologues of Father Karras.

Scary, thrilling, intelligent, The Exorcist is one of my all time favourite novel (and movie) and I never imagined an audiobook would ever make me love it more, but here we are.

Audiobook narration by an author doesn’t usually go over to well - not the case here - this is one of the very best narrations I have ever listened to in an audiobook. It was absolutely worth the credit! Difficult material, no
doubt, but ultimately worth it.

I really, really loved this book. I've seen the movie so many times, I honestly did not expect the book to be so much more impactful. The performance of the narrator was perfect, I really liked that the author was the one narrating because I felt like it was read exactly how he intended it to be. The voices were perfect and the demon sounded extremely unsettling. Highly recommended.
