The Final Frontier is a unique and striking exploration of the consistencies, common elements, and recurring themes associated with the Near-Death Experience. This examination is based on the accounts of 286 people who had the experience. Less than one-third of the respondents associated with this research had any knowledge of NDEs before their experience. Their NDEs' events, descriptions, and sensations do not differ in a meaningful way from those with prior knowledge. This fact alone suggests that the similarities reported in the narrative accounts are driven not by preconceived notions of what happens upon death but by similarities in the experience itself. This point is proven time and time again throughout the work.
