À propos de cet audio
The New York Times best-selling author of 'Til Death Do Us Part transports listeners to 1930s California, where glamour and seduction spawn a multitude of sins.
At the exclusive Burning Cove Hotel on the coast of California, rookie reporter Irene Glasson finds herself staring down at a beautiful actress at the bottom of a pool. The dead woman had a red-hot secret about an up-and-coming leading man, a scoop that Irene couldn't resist. Seeking the truth about the drowning, Irene finds herself drawn to a master of deception.
Once a world-famous magician whose career was mysteriously cut short, Oliver Ward is now the owner of the hotel. He can't let scandal threaten his livelihood, even if it means trusting Irene, a woman who seems to have appeared in Los Angeles out of nowhere four months ago. With Oliver's help Irene soon learns that the glamorous paradise of Burning Cove hides dark and dangerous secrets. And that the past - always just out of sight - could drag them both under.

Genre
1. Mystery 💡💡💡💡- 4 Lightbulbs out of 5 – It was a very good mystery. It really kept me guessing.
2. Romance ❤️❤️❤️❤️– 4 heart thumps out of 5 – I really enjoyed the romance in this. You know its coming but it is not thrown in your face. 😝😍 It was a little too predictable, too sweet, but I was still rooting for them.
Characters
⭐⭐ ⭐⭐ - The characters were so fun and the narrator played them all very well. They all were unique, vibrant and they really enraptured me in the story. They made me really care about the story.
Worldbuilding
⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I love the 1920/30’s feel of everything. The cars, the buildings, the atmosphere. I felt like I was there.
Story
⭐⭐⭐ ⭐– It was really good. I needed to know what happened next. Everything was tied up nicely. A little too nicely in my opinion. There was one aspect of the story that I thought was going to run longer in the series but it ended way too quickly for me, but again that is just me.
Final Comments: I really, really liked this book. I will be reading the next in the series. The narrator did a perfect job in my opinion. So, why didn’t I give it a 5 star review, well things were tied up a little too nicely like I said. I like my mystery series to be a bit messy. The main characters are just a bit too good. I like my characters messy. 😊 Having said that the wholesomeness is not deterring my from moving to the next book. So look out for that review when I get caught up on all my other reviews and TBR’s LOL.
Who would I recommend to: If you are looking for a good 1930’s mystery this is right up your alley. It reminds me of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries then you will get a kick out of this.
Reminder of Miss Fishers' Murder Mysteries. FUN!
