Description

The number-one New York Times best-selling author of The Day John Died delivers another dramatic installment in the lives of the Kennedys - including new details about JFK, Jr., his relationship with his mother, his many girlfriends, and the night of his tragic death.

Critically acclaimed author Christopher Andersen is a master of celebrity biographies - boasting 16 best sellers, among them These Few Precious Days, Mick, and William and Kate. Now in his latest thrilling book, untold details of the life and death of JFK, Jr., come to light, released in time for the 15-year marker of the tragic plane crash on July 16, 1999.

At the heart of The Good Son is the most important relationship in JFK, Jr.'s life: that with his mother, the beautiful and mysterious Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Andersen explores his reactions to his mother's post-Dallas suicidal depression and growing dependence on prescription drugs (as well as men); how Jackie felt about the women in her son's life, from Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker, to Daryl Hannah and Carolyn Bessette, to his turbulent marriage; the senseless plane crash that took his life; the aftermath of shock, loss, grief, and confusion; and much more. Offering new insights into the intense, tender, and often stormy relationship between this iconic mother and son, The Good Son is a riveting, bittersweet biography for lovers of all things Kennedy.

The Good Son

The book was excellently written. It was a page turner (auto-page turner). It filled in the gaps about the “Kennedy’s story” expertly. I’m going to listen to it again since I may have missed parts of the book when I fell asleep. Not because it was boring but because I was tired.

Great story

Such a great voice to listen to and a great story for that voice to tell.

A Different Perspective

I like this book. It gave a different perspective into John Jr’s life. We can remember seeing the little boy giving a salute to his father’s coffin. However, for the most part we did not see a lot of John and Caroline growing up. Their mother did a great job of keeping them to grow up as normal possible for children of a legend like JFK.

We learned in this book the expectations Jackie had for her children and the struggle Kohn had with this. We will never know what John may have accomplished.

I would recommend this book for those that like to read biographies. Especially about the Kennedy’s.

A bit too long

For some one who doesn’t follow the saga of the Kennedy’s this book was even too long and too detailed. It would have been better if it was written selectively using the critical milestones and the more interesting incidents used to illustrate the character of JFK Jr
