The king of Narvonne is dead, and the capital has fallen.
Trist and his allies have defeated the daemon Adrammelech, and in the aftermath of the battle, the conflict between Narvonne and the Caliphate of Ma'in has been set aside. A message from the capital of Lutetia brings word that the Baron du Champs d'Or has rebelled, bringing a combined army of his own vassals and Kimmerian mercenaries to seize the throne for himself.
