it will surprise you.
a bit of a slow start...it's worth the effort . the narration is a little lack luster.

Really good combination of past and present
This story was very well done and I enjoyed it from start to finish. If you’re a fan of Susanna Kearsley, you will definitely enjoy this book. Not every author can mix a story from the past along with a story in the present, Irina Shapiro did an excellent job! The narrator was also very good.

Great story
I'm not a historian but the story seemed to include many historical facts. In any case, it was exciting with well developed characters and a surprising reveal near the end. While the narration was credible I found her inflection annoying by the end. Probably just a personal preference.
