This collection introduces The Hardy Boys, two teenage brothers who hope to follow in the footsteps of their father, a famous private detective. Frank and Joe live with their parents in Bayport, a small village on the east coast.

In The Tower Treasure, the boys discover the truth behind the theft of securities and jewels from the Tower Mansion in Bayport.

In The House On The Cliff, the brothers foil a smuggling ring that is using an abandoned house near town.

In The Secret of the Old Mill, Frank and Joe are tricked into accepting counterfeit money while waiting at the train station. They follow clues to uncover the counterfeiting operation at an abandoned flour mill near Bayport.
