Description

Making it up the aisle was the easy part: Rebecca "Bex" Porter must survive her own scandals and adjust to royal British life in this "timely and positively delicious" follow-up to The Royal We that's "just as fun, charming, and delightful as the first" (Taylor Jenkins Reid).

After a scandalous secret turns their fairy-tale wedding into a nightmare, Rebecca "Bex" Porter and her husband, Prince Nicholas, are in self-imposed exile. The public is angry. The queen is even angrier. And the press is salivating. Cutting themselves off from friends and family and escaping the world's judgmental eyes feels like the best way to protect their fragile, all-consuming romance.

But when a crisis forces the new duke and duchess back to London, the Band-Aid they'd placed over their problems starts to peel at the edges. Now, as old family secrets and new ones threaten to derail her new royal life, Bex has to face the emotional wreckage she and Nick left behind: with the queen, with the world, and with Nick's brother, Freddie, whose sins may not be so easily forgotten - nor forgiven.

Ce que les critiques en disent

"Royal watchers and tabloid devotees will devour this juicy look behind the gilded curtain of palace life." (Kirkus)

"The Fug Girls have done it again! The Heir Affair is the perfect sequel to The Royal We. It is just as fun, charming, and delightful as the first - now with even more complexity and wisdom as we grow to know and love these characters even more. A timely and positively delicious story. I loved it." (Taylor Jenkins Reid, best-selling author of Daisy Jones & the Six)

ok

Like the first book I enjoyed it until around the 2/3 mark where it starts to go unneccesarily weird. Still worth the finish and read.

I loved this book. I especially enjoyed the narrator. She performed various characters with different voices. Was exceptional.

Not as good The Royal We

I was a little disappointed with goes on with Freddy. I think I would have liked the story if it involved something different for his character

Guilty Pleasure

The perfect listen when you need a fun and easy summer escape. Many favorite characters from the first book make a reappearance and the narrator is fantastic.

Amazing sequel!!

Sometimes sequels don’t stand up to the first in a series, but this one is FANTASTIC!! The authors may have even outdone themselves this time with the plot twists and countless emotional moments. I listened on Audible and was on the edge of my seat countless times! Christine’s performance truly brought the book to life. I can not recommend Heather & Jessica’s series enough!!

Worthy sequel!

Very entertaining and equally good the the first in the series. I smiled the entire time. Plus the narrator was superb.

The Heir Affair was a great sequel to Book 1! Loved learning more about the main characters and what was going to happen to all of them. A definite must read!!

Very entertaining.

Much like the first book I really enjoyed listening. I wish there was a follow up. Freddy was kind of left in the wind.

Good but The Royal We was better...

It‘s a pick.. great listen.... good but not as good as The Royal We. It was fun to hang out with Bex, Nick, Freddie and crew again. The narrative took some unexpected twists and turns. I think I have to state in the end, I liked Freddie better than Nick..

just like the 1st book, I didn't want it to end

these books are so long and still I can't get enough. love these characters and I have my fingers crossed there is a 3rd book that takes us on Nick & Bec's parenting adventures. easy listening and a lovely escape from my non-royal life.
