By far my favourite narration of any work of Tolkien.

We all know the story of the Hobbit and in 2020 the book can indeed feel old-timey and dusty as you read it... however, Serkis not only brings a modern flavour, but takes it far beyond. What a fantastic reading from the 2nd director of the movies himself, the acting is sublime and his voices bring the old words to life in a way that Tolkien himself would be proud of.

Serkis knows this book intimately, and you can tell from his reading, the flustered nature of Bilbo is a high point, his iconic voice of golum feels like coming home and his identifiable dwaves are all wonderful.

The only thing I could hope– no, pray for, is a possibility of Serkis visiting the Lord of the Rings.

I've always loved this story, and Andy Serkis manages to make it even better. His narration breathes new life into what was already a beloved book. He sings, uses outstanding character voices (Gollum!), and does an all-around phenomenal job of telling the story. It's almost enough to make me wanna watch The Hobbit movies again... Almost.

Would love to hear Andy Serkis narrate the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I’ve read The Hobbit close to a million times. It’s been a favourite of mine since I was a kid. Andy Serkis does a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I can’t wait to dig into his narration of Lord of the Rings soon!!

The narrator makes this beloved take come to life as of it is playing out in my office. I wish Me. Serkis had also given his time and immense talent to read The Lord of the Rings.
