Another amazing book by N.K. Jemisin!

It’s a solid story, but the amount of second person is a bit much - but on par with the other books of this author.

The narrator was great and the prose was good. To me, there were some moments that lacked tension and interest. The character Cia was excellent and had some great lines. I found it hard to follow the logic or reason of the MCs actions at times and that's what brought the book down for me.

Book was okay

Meh. It was just okay. I struggled to get into the story then struggled harder to stay there.
I found the characters surprisingly bland (including the gods), the plot a bit confusing and the world hard to envision.
The narrator was little help. It was hard to differentiate the male voices.
Not a bad book but not a great one either.
