À propos de cet audio
After scant days in his “real” world, Thomas Covenant finds himself again summoned to a strange world of magic and Earthpower. There, 40 bitter years have passed, while Lord Foul, immortal enemy of the Land, moves to fulfill his prophecy of doom - his countless minions are already on the march, cutting a devastating swath of destruction across the Land.
The Council of Lords find their spells useless, however, now that Foul the Despiser holds the Illearth Stone, the ancient talisman of evil. High Lord Elena turns in desperation to Covenant and the legendary wild magic of his ring, but nobody knows how to use the white gold - least of all Thomas Covenant himself.

It tears at your heart

A great classic.

I can guess now why I struggled with this as a teenager. Part 1 is just a lot of philosophical meandering around Covenant’s disbelief in The Land, and although beautifully written, doesn’t have much story or action.
The last two parts make up for this in abundance, with gripping story lines and plenty of surprises.
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommended it.
Turned out really great

Narrator spoiled the story

The writing is capable, the author pays more attention to worldbuilding, and Stephen R. Donaldson does a better job of character development (Covenant doesn't rape any underaged virgins in this one) but the plot is disappointingly straightforward and relatively slow in execution. Still, it's an improvement on Book One.
As to presentation: Reader Scott Brick is a little bit too melodramatic in his performance to my tastes, too. Don't get me wrong, Brick is a thoroughly professional narrator - one of the best in the business, in fact - but accelerating playback speed is essential to offset his drawling, arrogant, overacted delivery on this recording
Altogether, this 6/10-star audiobook merits your Credit. It's definitely worth a listen.
[Note: Naming your god-like legendary visionary leader "Lord Kevin" is unintentionally amusing. It made me think simultaneously of the 'Bobiverse' and the sorcerer 'Tim' in Monty Python's Holy Grail 😃]
