Pointless.

I don't see the point of this book. It was probably intended as an expose of Nazi misappropriation of art, but most of the book is spent on describing the excesses of the filthy rich. When I realized the novel's point-of-view was the 'voice' of a painting, I threw in the towel. The whole entire mess left me feeling flat. Don't waste your time.
