The topic of spiritual growth and development has been broadly spoken to in many essays, articles, and books. However, I would like to speak more directly to the four phases of my life and journey with the Sovereign. The first phase was all about me. The second phase was all about me and Him. The third phase was about Him and me, and the fourth phase has and is all about Him. All of these phases involved a process of growth and development that included both enlightenment and illumination. In other words, my quest for truth has resulted in a more complete understanding of a great many things. June 14th, 1970 - After almost two hours of pouring my heart out to the Father, I was soaking wet from head to toe. You could have filled a mason jar with sweat from my clothes. I was thoroughly cleansed, washed and made whole. When I stepped out onto the front porch of that ‘old cleaners building’ being used as a church ministry at the time, I could literally smell the odor of fresh cut grass and heard the voices of birds singing for the first time in my life. It was though all of creation was new and it was just waiting for me to show up. It was then that I clearly heard the voice of Holy Spirit say to me that “I am calling you to the ministry” and this small country town in South Louisiana is your mission field.
