Marianna Edgewater finds a knife in the furnace room of an abandoned Georgia school building she bought to use as a studio for her interior design business.

The knife terrifies her. Apparently, through the knife, she hears the voice of a girl murdered on the school grounds, over 30 years ago. The voice insists her killer is still at large, but still isn’t sure who it was, only that it wasn’t the man who was convicted.

Marianna begins having accidents as she questions the local people about the long-ago murder. When two men romance her, can she trust their motives?

It wasn't terrible, but it was definitely not great. Lots of stereotypes, lots of white people being clueless. Actually, the whole plot seemed to hinge on both of those things. Yeah, 3 feels a bit generous. I also found the romance subplot a bit uncomfortable.
And the narrator had an unbearable voice. I had to speed it up to 2x to get through it.
