For exactly one season, Lady Charlotte Wentworth played the biddable female the ton expected - and all it got her was society's mockery and derision. Now she's determined to be in charge of her own future. So when an unwanted suitor tries to manipulate her into an engagement, she has a plan. He can't claim to be her fiancé if she's engaged to someone else. Even if it means asking for help from the last man she would ever marry.

Narrator fail
The choice of narrators can make or break the story on audible. This narrator voice and tone was distracting and could not enjoy the story.

Solid romance with a good heroine
This is a tough one. I love the strong female leads in Joanna Shupe’s work, but I sometimes have trouble fully connecting with the romance. Not sure what it was. This one was steamy-ish, fine banter, good character development, fun situations. Maybe it was something about the pacing. I finished this one, but more slowly than I normally do. And I didn’t have trouble putting it down. Basically: a fun light read to keep you busy when you don’t want your sleep ruined by a page-turner.

Way too many words
Good steamy sex but boring endless descriptions of main characters’ thinking and indecisiveness. Had to jump ahead many times to skip these frequent boring narrations. The narrator’s voice was grating and harsh, spoiled it, along with the descriptive diarrhea.

Loved the Plot
I enjoyed the story as a whole. The plot was well developed and I liked the characters. My problem was with the voices. The narration was fine, but the voices needed improvement. It was such a distraction that I considered not finishing the book.

Lady becomes a vixen
Very fun book, Enjoyed the lessons given by the hero nice slow burn with sweet ending. I didn't really like the narrator's male voice and pace but I did get used to it. Another solid Shupe book!

The Narrator Gets Lucky
The narrator really made me stick it out and read til the end. I love Joanna Shupe's work but this series has been a bit slow or just hard for me to get through. I will say I enjoyed this book far more than the first in the series.
