For a young girl named Gloria, this fading world is becoming all she knows. But everything changes when she captures a single, pulsing spark of brilliant blue light—a living piece of Lyra’s fading magic. Now, guided by a map woven from starlight and a compass that follows the song of a moonpetal, Gloria must embark on a perilous quest to the dreaded Sunken Spire.
Her journey will take her through the chiming Forest of Glass Butterflies and across a river that flows backward. She must solve the riddle of a grumpy bridge troll and escape the clutches of the terrifying Gloom-lurkers who feast on despair. The darkness is growing, and Gloria, with her one tiny spark, may be the world's only chance. But she will soon discover that the most powerful magic isn't just a spark in a jar, but the courage and hope we carry inside ourselves.
