On the unforgiving streets of Karad, Veron grows up hungry, inexperienced, and stealing just to survive. After tragedy strikes, he is forced to decide what path his life will take.

I enjoyed this book a lot , there were parts that were gripping ,
The monster part was good. I got it for free never heard of it before. Really happy I gave it a chance.

Its been awhile that a book gave me that "edge of ur seat " feeling. Great story so far and im hooked for now.

There are a few main young characters. We follow. Clearly building up to them meeting but what I expected to happen didn’t. It is very well written. Very engaging. With real failures and real setbacks for our main characters. That they have to work through and become parts of their development and their character.

Narration is good. Solid. A year ago I would have said excellent but I’ve had some exposure to truly spectacular narration in the past year so this style of narrator I know see as “A” tier instead of “S” tier.

The ending has me just frustrated with the actions of one character. But that was the point. And I’m looking forward to the colaberation that has been set up at the end. I guess I’ll have to listen to the next book too.
