The author weaves a plot of wedding cakes and other delicious treats, a missing groom and a bride determined to find him. The missing groom provides the author with twists in the plot. There is lots of suspenseful moments while the bride tries to find out what has happened to her groom.

The narrator is captivating when describing the characters and the intriguing murder plot. Her description of the recipes in the book give the reader wonderful images of the finished recipes.
