This narrative set in the early years of post-colonial Africa should have provided a gripping listen. A group from Hollywood sets out on safari and the story quickly descends into a tale of survival. For reasons I cannot quite identify, The Lioness, a plot line that promises so much, just doesn’t quite deliver. Possibly this is a result of the fact that there was not a character in the cast that I found relatable or invested in.
