as someone who loved the Rowan series, I was very excited to find these additional books, they are about different characters but the book is basically the same. this FMC says the EXACT same things about her man crush that Rowan did. they go through basically the same issues and honestly I'm really disappointed

First and foremost I would like to wish Adam Gold a bright future in his other endeavors bc he shouldn’t voice act. His performance was not aided by the mediocre writing for Davin’s character either. Olivia King’s performance was just plain confusing - she thinks in a Lochlannian accent but speaks in a Socair one?? MIMS. The broad outline of this story had potential but the actual writing of it just did not deliver. An absolute bore. If you liked Rowan’s story and are considering this, don’t. 👎🏼

The 3rd collection in this series is just ok. It seemed the authors tried to drag out the relationship drama this time in lieu of just having more happening in the story. That got old because it's obvious from the get-go that the 2 people will end up together - it's the formula of the genre that they will, so there was no interest created by drawing it out for so long.
For the fmc, the female narrator used one accent when she was talking as fmc and a different accent when she was thinking as fmc. Such an unusual choice. It did make it clear when the character was speaking vs thinking, which is an unique to audio-book issue, but it left me feeling unconnected to the character and seemed like she lacked substance & personality. I never really knew her.
Overall I enjoyed all 3 collections, two being the "best." They are basic, but have likeable characters in an interesting enough world. The series is about 2% fantasy, and the rest is romance tropes, PG spice.
