this book was filled with so much missing back story for our on and only crystal druid, as well as saber rose. This book is filled with twists and turns you won't expect and lots and lots of up and downs, And a little bit of Agent Kit Morris ;)

I was really not sure about it at first and now I love it. I would highly recommend. The plot is a little slow, but the ending is great.

The characters are well rounded and flushed out. And just the right amount of romance.

The reader is pretty good. Not my favorite, but pretty good. The story isn’t terrible. The world-building is decent. I haven’t read the previous books, so I’m using this to decide if I will go back and read the others; it’s an intriguing premise And that’s where it ends.
1) the main character is awful. It’s written in first person, so we have the MC’s inner dialogue, which should make her more understandable. But nope, she is unlikeable, unrelatable, and mean. She goes for a knife every time she gets pissed off and is just juvenile. And violent. And selfish. I’m trying to like her but no. She could get answers from person B, but won’t. Instead she throws them all into certain danger based on a feeling.
2) tired literary trope: let’s introduce some past event that went awry in the first book and dwell on it for books before you actually get an answer of what happened, dragging it out. Seriously old. If you can’t pull a reader in with writing, that won’t cut it. I honestly despise that sort of writing.
