Audio recording of a video -- I think

The author and High Priest of Astarte, etc., et al, Poke Runyon, narrates most of this. It was confusing because he kept saying we would "see" the ritual. As far as I can tell, this is the audio of a VHS/DVD first released in 1996 and updated in 2003. The audio quality is passable but not fantastic, especially to the standards of audiobooks in 2003.

As a solitary magickal practitioner, I find it difficult to piece together what a ceremonial magician is supposed to do. Greats such as this author and Lon Milo Duquette, for instance, warn against insanity and physical harm, whilst relaying stories of absolute idiocy during attempts to harness elemental and primordial forces. I believe they're doing their best to try and help us from making their stupid mistakes, but like... Chill, man.

The best I can say for this book is that it's a stop along the way on my journey, and I learned some things that I will further research, namely black mirror scrying and Canaanite / Phoenician deity worship.

I haven't read the author's "The Book of Solomon's Magick," but I feel like it might have been the better first choice.
