Everyone wants handsome adventurer John Huxley to settle down - family, friends, London society. Everyone except John. He's evaded too many scheming title huntresses to trust in happily ever after. But she's not mad - she's desperate. To save her friend, Annie must marry a lord. The trouble is no lord will look twice at a hoyden like her. When Annie's family is targeted by a dangerous enemy, John is tempted to stay, to fight, and to win the greatest prize of all: a fiery lass' tender, loyal heart.

This was a great book! It was a very original story and progressed at a good pace! I loved the characters. There was just the right amount of « spice » 😉

Narrator was amazing as well!!

This story captured me from the start. Ruth Urquhart was my search word for this one and she does an excellent job at narration for men and woman Scots! Lots of sex, story lines and comedy relief. There is definitely some unfinished business that I hope continues on in her next book. Enjoy!

I had no idea what this would be about when I started it and oh my gosh it was so so good. All of the My Fair Lady vibes!!! The audiobook narrator was amazing I was completely immersed in the story. This is definitely a new favourite!! I can’t wait to continue on in this series and with Elisa Braden’s backlist!!

This book is fabulous and I laughed all the way through it. the characters are characters, deeply entertaining. Age of story but written with such humour that I didn't want it to end.

I just live this author! I love how all of the characters are connected from book to book allowing you to continue to enjoy a small connection to all your favourite characters in a new adventure.

An absolutely fun and amazing highlander romance! I was impressed with the narration she captured all the characters perfectly and the Scottish accent was perfect.
