Miracles are happening. Pray to God they stop.

In the dead of winter, on a highway in Quebec, a man crashes his car and survives. In New York, a homeless person is run over by a bus and lives. Story was unique and humorous at times, overall not a bad read. Narration...narrator did a good job with characters but had to speed up his voice overall to minimize that weird tonality that was quite a detractor....( to my ears anyways )

Very interesting premise for a story,and always cool to hear the Canadian references aswell.. Became a fan of Keith C Blackmore from the Mountain Man series and will always be a fan.

Keith C Blackmore is my favourite author by far and The Missing Boatman is up there for my favourite book! Super unique concept was written sooo well and narrated amazingly as well :) can’t wait for more Blackmore books as I’m on round 2 of listening to all of my fave series from him.

My fave book

I really enjoyed the story.
The narration was terrible. I had to speed it up.
It's a good story with lots of Canadian content. I really enjoyed other books from this author, The Mountain Man series was fantastic.
The Boatman is a story of the supernatural story that went in a direction I never expected. A different narrator would really help.

The story is really good. The analogies are corny. The writing ok.

The excessive use of foul and sexually explicit language is not necessary and disappointing. I’m not a prude, this book is over the top. The story would take half the time to tell if the language was improved.

This novel started well and went downhill from there. The premise was interesting and it would have been a great short story. It’s bad on so many levels, that I can’t list them all.

Quite awful in the end

Between Mountain Man and The Missing Boatman, Keith C. Blackmore mentions men and their relationship to their balls to the point of the absurd. It is humorous the first few times but the reference in chapter after chapter gets tiring and doesn't bode well for the male population and this particular nasty habit. Also, I wonder if Mr Blackmore has shares in the distillery that produces Jack Daniels? In any event, The Missing Boatman is not, in my humble opinion, up to par with the marvelous Mountain Man series. It is overwritten with crudity and violence that is reminiscent of Mountain Man where it was not only acceptable but necessary to the main character. In The Missing Boatman, it is just there for no apparent reason and, because of this, rather annoying. Also, I did not feel an affinity for the characters in The Missing Boatman as I did in Mountain Man. Finally, the narration is really, really irksome and made it difficult to get through the story.
