À propos de cet audio

Adriana Barrows returns to Maine following a disastrous intelligence-gathering mission in Pakistan. Unlike the extremely competent and capable woman the listener met in the first book, in Book II the listener meets the entirely "human" Adriana, one who will need to deal with her own weaknesses and frailties. Once again, the narrator tells her story, believing that from his past experiences, he perhaps alone can help her to heal. But he once more gets to look backward into the depths of his own dark memories of wars fought and lost years before. Eventually, with time and patience he is able to pull Adriana away from the dark abyss of her depressions, but it is mostly a new challenge that can be met by them both that begins to yield a true recovery.

But once again there will be a new challenge that will require Adriana's skills and training to be utilized and as in the first book, she must leave her narrator/lover behind. The difference this time is there is no doubt that she will return to him and their life together. But once she is gone, it also seems to him that the old lesson he thought might be behind them, will be taught once again: that when things seem too good to be true, they usually are.
