Just a bit too far fetched…

The story wasn’t too bad but some of the protagonist’s poorly planned actions, and the consequences there of, were a bit ridiculous. What was very interesting though was the historical window into how things were in India in the 1920s. The British attitudes toward other ethnicities was eye opening as well. The book was written in 1926 and reflects the language, prejudice, and misogyny of the time. The narrator, on the other hand, was very good and made the somewhat tedious and silly parts of the story more palatable. I would never be able to read the book, listening is the only way to get through it. I’m not sure whether I will listen to another of this author’s books.
