À propos de cet audio

Everyone seems to agree that we have an epidemic of what is diagnosed as autism. But, in the history of our society, there has never been "an epidemic" of any developmental or genetic disorder. Yet, over the span of 30 years, autism has gone from affecting one in 5,000 children to one in 90, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. So what is this "autism", which has come to affect the lives of so many? In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Goldberg and his colleagues illustrate why autism must be a symptom of a treatable, neurological disease that attacks the brain’s immune system.

Through Goldberg’s personal anecdotes, case studies, and original research, you will come to understand that autism is:

  • Not psychological or developmental—it is a medical disease.
  • Caused by a dysfunction in the neuro–immune system. Similar to ADD/ADHD and chronic fatigue in that they all have different "labels" but are variations on the same thing: neuro-immune dysfunction.

In order to save children from the disease and social stigma of autism, Dr. Goldberg unpacks the myth behind the illness and provides a wealth of diagnostic and treatment information that will transform your own life and the lives of those around you.

This book makes so much sense. It confirms many of my own thoughts and theories.

Very enlightening!

pseudoscience do not recommend wasting your time and/or energy on this. please read good resources that are autistic informed about autism (eg. neurodiversity)

I was encouraged by the summary: I believe inflammation is a contributing factor in widespread poor mental health, and that relates deeply to the immune system. Unfortunately, the author prefers to posit a brain virus, implicating, amongst other things, vaccines in its aetiology. Disconnected from facts, it remains a poor work of fiction, and can be safely ignored.

Complete BS

as an autistic adult I know this is complete bullshit. do not waste your time and potentially risk buying into these crazy ideas with no basis in science that will end up hurting autistic people.

The writing has a heavy bias but is otherwise well read. The writer will occasionally have a reference to their stats or points, but the samples are always really small and inconclusive. Perhaps there is a point in what is said, but it just doesn't hold much water with what is known in the community at this moment. I am always happy to view all sides of a theory, but the writing tone is not exactly neutral and is offputting. With how inflexible the writing is, it poses heavy risks to the autistic community
