Incredible.
Kristin Hannah can do no wrong. It was captivating, poignant and an emotional rollercoaster. It was well researched, realistic and raw. On the flip, of a dime you loved or hated the characters, and were never truly sure where you stood until the very end. It was flawless.

Good story
This story follows the lives of Isabelle and Vianne, two sisters, during WW2. It is a great story for those who love history and is told well alternating between the two main characters. Narration was perfect. Recommend to add it to your listening library. #Audible1

I was obsessed with this audio book, I listen while I drive to and from work and couldn’t wait to get in the car each morning and the end of each day. You could feel the passion, strength and determination of the 2 lead characters and even through the disturbing and very sad parts I kept listening because I was right there beside them and couldn’t let them go. #Audible1

Deeply thoughtful portail of parents, & lovers of WW2
Kristin Hannah’s descriptive writing really paint a picture of what it would have been like to live through (and with) the Nazis. The story has many strong descriptions of war and even more of heroin women. Emotional, deep and thoughtfully written.
The Nightingale is a truly remarkable story, and a beautiful way of commemorating, and remembering our ancestors, and the hardships and emotions another human had to feel and experience. It’s a shame really, to imagine that millions had to experience this pain, torture and heartache.

Great book!
The book is very interesting, it was hard to put it down.
The story followed the very well described characters in the Second World War in France and the decisions they made to fight or survive the war. Sometimes the described details and situations are very disturbing so you can feel the pain and suffering of the characters.

Engaging and well written
This is an exceptional story and I think I would have appreciated it more if I had read the book, rather than listen to this narrator. I will not deny that there are a lot of characters in this story, many with different accents; however this narrator failed to master the accents effectively or to bring many of the characters to life. I would still recommend this book, but if you are European, be prepared to get irritated!
