theres just too much fluff language added in for a book that is so short and covering such a massive topic. I thought this short book would be a good prequel to a more on depth historical account.. but idk how many times the other said in 1 way or another how important history is to understanding modern issues.. like dude, you have only 3 hours, get to the actual facts and stop blathering on about the importance of history, adding in lame phrases like "do you dare to dive in to the history of the Ottoman Empire?" or "what lessons can be drawn from X, Y or Z?" (paraphrasing here), just a lot of added fluff and questions to the listener instead of getting to hard facts (which is why I enjoy history to begin with). Or outlining what it doing to come in the coming chapters even though you're halfway through the book. I seriously think these might be written by a crappy AI trying to squeeze out a minimum amount of words or something...

The narrator did totally fine, wasn't bad but also idk how a narrator could blow someone away either with this kind of nonfiction content. Also given the quality of the writing they did an admirable job,.but even a good narrator can't save writing this bad
