Very Detailed!
The first half of the book REALLY deep dives into the causes of PCOS from a scientific and analytical perspective and includes real life stories of multiple women's personal experiences. The 2nd half goes into detail about physical excercise and diet, among other tooics.
I truly appreciate how it is broken down and all the examples given. The healthy foods proposed come with nutritional information and recipes. The break down of the nutritional value of the different food groups mentioned help in determining what one can source locally.
It really is quite detailed so that is something to factor in when considering what format to consume this book in. I personally would pick this up in print but I rarely have time to read so I appreciate the audio, I got the answers that I needed quickly. If you are able to bookmark and take notes later, this version is all you need.
Overall, I would recommend this book. There is a great amount of knowledge to be gained. Supplement this with other sources to form a well rounded perspective (as I would always suggest).

A one prong approach to PCOS
I didn't really enjoy this book. Its an argument for a combo of extreme keto and fasting for life. Although this might work if followed correctly, even her clients didn't follow it consistently after they reached their goal or got pregnant because
although the principle is simple the practice is not. People struggle with keto because its tough to maintain and some are good for life but that's not the majority of people out there. If you can commit to keto and fasting for life this book might be for you. I have no doubt the program would work. However, it doesn't heal insulin sensitivity as based on her own anecdotes everyone who goes off the diet gains weight with a vengeance. I also question if this is nutritionally balanced with most foods off limits. I was also disappointed that the recipes weren't provided with a pdf attachment. I wasn't taking notes while listening and doing dishes. I found the narrator clunky and robotic. This is a diet based approach only, so other possible issues such as thyroid or inflammation are not addressed. I have read other PCOS books that I feel are more comprehensive about the disorder, the multiple causes and tests to get to streamline your approach. While insulin sensitivity is the number one cause for sure, there is more to address than just eating for insulin and this book doesn't address other PCOS causes. I have been losing weight without following this protocol using supplements and a healthy diet that help manage insulin which I feel is more functional for my lifestyle. This book was disappointing for me.
