Description

Jess Carter only wants to finish out her senior year of high school. No friends, no boyfriends, and definitely not an insanely hot, overprotective guy who might possibly be her mate. No thanks. She only came to the tiny town of Banks, Idaho, to make sure her dad doesn't do anything too crazy. Like buy the local motel where you pay by the hour.

Dangerous stalkers and a group of students known as the Pack are the opposite of what she plans on, but that doesn't change the fact that she has zero intentions of getting involved. At all. Period. End of story. Except, the stalkers are after her; the insanely hot guy is one of the high school coaches; and the Pack...well, let's just say the name suits them.

With nowhere else to turn, Jess must rely on the Pack to protect her, but in doing so, she becomes caught up in a brewing war over territory and power. One that may cost her everything.

Very similar to other series

Twilight, but with werewolves 🤷🏼‍♀️ oops, i mean, shifters ;) everything is painfully similar. The lack of logic made me cringe sometimes. It’s a nice story for younger adults.

Not bad but not amazing

I’m so thankful that the lead female character has turned 18 before diving into a relationship with an adult. I always get so grossed out when they make the girls so young and with grown men!

So far it’s just like any other shifter series I’ve read before the only difference is that not everyone can shift in their pack & the genetic differences.

The teacher student relationship kinda creeps me out but I’m happy he’s been completely respectful of her age and honest with her even meeting her father.

Loved it!!

An easy but interesting listen!! I loved it. So many laughs!!! I am excited to listen to the rest of the books in the series.

GOOD but too long to get to the point.

Good for mature but younger audiences. I'm still going to keep listening to it. Holds my interest quite well, but a little drawn out. This is a long series so I'm sure plenty will happen. Maybe it'll pick up a bit. (More than half way through this book while writing this.)

Such a great listen!

The storyline was exactly what I was looking for, keeping me intrigued and wanting to hear more.
It was well read also, she did a fantastic job, well spoken

A sleeping book

I liked the book. Put it as a sleeping book because it’s was a bit hard for me to immerse myself in the story.
But I assure you when « in » you will liked it.
Sadly it was not addictive enough for me to start the 2nd book but may be in the near future I will ( since it is included). 😏😘

Young love

If you are a fan of twilight then this book is right up your ally. The passion is not fifty shades of grey but the love is young. I can’t wait to see where this series goes from there.

Sweet story

I liked this book a lot and the narrator made it come alive. I liked that since the age gap was so big the author limited sexual interaction but the romance was definitely still there. I wish it had a bit more story, it was a worn trope that could have been made better with some twists but that being said I did like it.

Intriguingly different and similar

This book was constantly coming up on my recommendations list but I kept putting it off because I was a little weirded out about the whole teacher student thing but ultimately gave in when I read the other reviews.

Jess was a breath a fresh air when it comes to young adult heroines! She was smart, resourceful, and knew her own limits. The fact that she was purposely telling the others in the pack to not tell her their secrets because she knew she wasn't ready for it was something different and enjoyable to read about.

Dom who is the hero and love interest was just the perfect mix of protective and caring in the book. The fact that he is a coach and not exactly a teacher coupled with his hesitation with jess because of his age made me like him more. (I also don't think he is that much older than her, maybe like 22ish and jess turns 18 by the end of the book so it seemed less weird)

The story of shifters has been around for some time but where this one differs is in the sweet romance between the main characters and also by the fact that Dom isn't even in charge of the pack. When I finally realized he wasn't alpha or even next in line (as of now) came as a shock because books are always about the special snowflakes these days.

Overall worth the listen or read.
Now onto the next one!

Has potential.

I am really picky when it comes to my reading and listening material. So I am on the fence about this book. Overall, the book wasn’t horrible per se but I am left with a lot of confusion with no explanations for so many inconsistencies as it relates to the pack and especially Jess. I feel disconnected because after finishing the story there are so many holes and not a lot of things make sense. The main characters are likable but that’s about it. The overall development is lacking. This book/series have a lot of potential so I will try the second book in the series for clarity.

pro grooming at its finest… Barf

If I didn’t have OCD with having to finish every book I start, I would have chucked this to the curb! Undisclosed age of an adult male preys on 17 year old child. The only person in this book with an sense was the female teacher telling her not to mess with the ADULT MALE TEACHER… yet the author plays the older women jealous of young child getting attention of a pedophile card.

Love this

Absolutely love this book.

I love all thing warewolf and the interpretation and unique take on a favourite drew me in and blew me away.

Absolutely love the performance of this. The narrator did a great job with it and emulated the character well. She gave a new level experience for the story and made me feel transported. She was easy to listen to and kept me hanging on to every word.

This has a great plot, a FMC you can’t help but relate to and fall for and Dom, omg I need me one of him please! Amazing characters that have come to life in this audio and I can’t wait to see how the story progresses.

Nice story, narration added to it

A teenager with a level head is a first (AFAIK... better, AFAIHR = as I have read so far in all my years;-) in the genre, something I very much appreciated. She is still credible as a teen though, her experience with her mom made me think some kids have to grow faster than pampered others.
I've enjoyed the narration, emotions in the voices conveying much more than the "simple" reading of the book would have (one of reasons why I tend to go for a narrated story whenever I feel the pull of a narrator's voice after being intrigued by the short description to make me listen to the sample. I never regret it).
Twilight-borrowed perhaps – on a different plan... I don't care, I've fully enjoyed it. :-)

Great Story, loved it!

This book kind of gave me a Twilight vibe with a twist. I really enjoyed the story and didn't want it to end! Thankfully, the story continues in book 2. I am very excited to get started on it as I am now invested in "The Pack" living in Banks, Idaho.

Good PNR

I like this story and thought it would be a little more adult because the summary said it contained mature content. The content was definetly somewhat graphic due to wolf fighting but there was no adult scenes if you know what I mean. It is more of a teen or young adult story. I still really enjoyed the story and cannot wait to see what happens in book 2!
