Description

In the final book of John Christopher's classic series, Will Parker returns to the headquarters of the Resistance after several months in the City of Gold and Lead. He travels to Eastern Europe and the Middle East to set up resistance cells with young boys who question the power of the Tripods.

Great story for its time and audience.

I had read the Tripods trilogy as a teenager and loved it. It was really enjoyable and nostalgic to go back to it as an adult.

I still love the themes of the story and the values it tries to promote. There are quite a few plot conveniences and inconsistencies that one would notice. But I didn't notice them as a teenager, and I'm not considering them in my rating of the books.

The narration is good, though occasionally a little fast and monotonous for some of the more dramatic characters.
