I feel like almost nothing happened in this book. It’s A LOT of sex, characters arguing and being annoyed and a SUPER pointless new setting thrown in there for no reason. Seems like the author didn’t know what she wanted to write so just filled up the book with sex scenes that honestly got way too tedious. This book was a mess, probably the worst I’ve read from this author. The amount of plot development probably could have been covered in 5 chapters and the rest is filler.

Was good I really enjoyed it. Cas became a bit of an insecure gaslighting b****, but other then that no complaints, can’t wait to see what happens next.

was so excited for 40hrs of listing time as I assumed this would be the last book.
NOPE, just hours of long winded filler, random spice that seemed inappropriate, so many catch phrases, a main character essentially left out of the story after so much work put into building them up for nothing to be resolved.

Filler! She could’ve ended this series in one book. She is stretching the story out to make more money. 90% of this book was not plot. It was tedious sex and conversation. So fuckin disappointed. This series was one of the best I have read in a long time. And it’s crushing to have it ruined by this wildly unnecessary book. Even if the next one is amazing it puts such a bad taste in my mouth that an author would do this to a loyal audience for money.

What a terrible disappointment. Lost respect for the author.

This final book had several slow chapters. The only thing that helped me push through the slow moments was the great narration. Such a disappointing ending to a series I liked.

I stopped shortly after poppy went to the new "releam". binged this series and was so excited for what we next... wool not be finishing this book. it got too boring and unrelated fast.

I had so many hopes for this book on terms of storyline and in 40+ hours of listening, there was more than ample time for at least some of these events to occur. however, somehow none of them were even mentioned (at least, barely), let alone played out. I am so incredibly disappointed by this book. We could have gotten to where it ended in less than half the time amd without so much redundant information. I really hope the next book in the series is released sooner than later and actually has the content that the lovers of this series are hoping for!!

Very slow paced. Majority of the novel is dialogue with little plot. Book could have easily been half the length with proper editing. Also found it very cringey at times, making it almost painful to listen to. I remembered enjoying the other books and preordered this one in hopeful expectation, but it fell down hard.

What happened to this series?

Cas’s character took a complete 180. Kieran was barely there and Poppy became a pushover. Kolis didn’t even seem half as bad while Cas was there being a possessive creep. Cas was literally Diet Kolis. So disappointing :(

Absolutely terrible pacing and loss of potential. It started off how I expected but never really went anywhere, by the time the plot progressed I checked and there was only 3 hours left in the book! With Cass's retelling, the encyclopedia, now this it just seems like a big waste of time. I wont be recommending this series to anyone even if the next book makes up for it.

Also they made it seem like the gods coming back was this huge deal and it was going to effect everything, like oooooo they woke uuuuup....the gods werent even in this book at all! Penelope even woke up in the castle and she was only mentioned! So much loss of potential to make the final fight not just fall flat. Although given that Kolis goes *gasp* "you have wings! impossible!" then just disappears when thrown out of a window and everyone just leaves it there im assuming the author is saving all the cool stuff for the last book. it just feels like there has been set up for more set up so the author can set up for the final book. Horrible to get through when this book could have wrapped things up event wise and the last book could have just been tying up loose ends with a proper send off. Kills my excitement knowing there will be too much jammed into the last book for everything to get attention and feel satisfying instead of ham fisted in.
