I thought the author did a good job of building chemistry and emotional layers with her character development. The emotional angst was evident but not overpowering. It was just enough to give a holiday romance depth and a bit of grit which I prefer rather than a whole lot of 'fluff'. There was some graphic sexual content which was balanced well with the story content. The side characters were interesting and created a colourful community. The narrator did an excellent job.

for a book that is listed as a contemporary mystery romance I found the mystery part to be a bit lacking. To me it felt more like a fall themed contemporary that you might see turned into a Hallmark movie with a side of mystery; I do wish that the mystery aspect of the story played a bigger part overall but that might be expanded on in the other books. I wasn't to familiar with the grumpy sunshine trope as its not something I see in most of the books I read but this book had me hooked to where I finished the book in one sitting, and I did indeed drink a lot of coffee while listening so I could stay awake to finish it. I now plan on reading the rest of the series and look forward to where the author takes the Dream Harbour story line in the next books as well as the one that is coming out in a few months.

This small town romance. Is a classic slow burn with fall themes scattered throughout. It even has a bit of mystery through out.

Book has a really cute name and I think that it could’ve been a great story if there was more coziness. There is some smut towards the end of the book, which is just OK.

this book was amazing!! it took everything I had not to listen to what was coming next!! I listened to it on my drives to work and shopping while drinking my pumpkin spice drink!! it's a must read if you love a twist and a good romance.
