À propos de cet audio

Set in the universe of the New York Times best-selling Three-Body Problem trilogy, The Redemption of Time continues Cixin Liu’s multi-award-winning science fiction saga. This original story by Baoshu - published with Liu’s support - envisions the aftermath of the conflict between humanity and the extraterrestrial Trisolarans.

In the midst of an interstellar war, Yun Tianming found himself on the front lines. Riddled with cancer, he chose to end his life, only to find himself flash frozen and launched into space where the Trisolaran First Fleet awaited. Captured and tortured beyond endurance for decades, Yun eventually succumbed to helping the aliens subjugate humanity in order to save Earth from complete destruction.

Granted a healthy clone body by the Trisolarans, Yun has spent his very long life in exile as a traitor to the human race. Nearing the end of his existence at last, he suddenly receives another reprieve - and another regeneration. A consciousness calling itself The Spirit has recruited him to wage battle against an entity that threatens the existence of the entire universe. But Yun refuses to be a pawn again and makes his own plans to save humanity’s future....

It is definitely fan-fiction, especially in the way that it sometimes over-explains things in the original trilogy, but the solutions to the mysteries the author finds are both respectful to the existing mythology and quite creative. In short, this book makes me excited to see what original work can come from that mind and the growing community of Chinese sci-fi authors 3 body helped establish.

Nice way to book-end an epic.

The original TBP series was amazing, but left a bunch of questions unanswered. Baoshu did an excellent job filling in a ton of the blanks such as what the Trisolerans looked like, and what happened with the main characters in the original series.

This book is a most worthy conclusion to an epic story line.

Lastly... I still have shivers from the last few sentences of this book. Should have seen that coming, but didn't. Loved it. Bravo, Baoshu! And thank you.

It’s a fun expedition into a fanfic world clearly from the mind of a weeb. Can it hold a candle to the real three body. No. Was it fun, yes. But forget this as an extension of three body. And enjoy it for what it is.

Three body series made into a dragon ball-esque story

Not comparable to Cixin Liu. This is a published fan fic. it's good for a fanfic, but I expected more

In a word: meh

While it's not innovative like the original series, it''s easier to understand while remaining true to the original theme.

Explains much of the confusing original series!

After reading the trilogy for a second time I wanted more. This novel provided me with a satisfying, if somewhat convoluted ending. I was left with a grin of enjoyment after the final paragraphs.

A satisfying epilogue to the original trilogy.

sometimes it was sort of boring and you felt like the characters were just sitting and talking. Overall there was a lot of interesting scientific explanations and some insights into events from the past books. The ending made the whole thing worth it.

overall a great experience

This fourth book provided closure to the trilogy. Almost every major events from the previous books are explained. Yes it felt a bit tedious at time, like watching a student carefully dotting all the i and crossing all the ts.
I believe you could say the book is a bit like fan service in the same way Rogue One was fan service.
There was some interesting ideas and turns and twist, the author is obviously a great fan of the books. He has made its homework.
I liked it but ymmv.

Having loved the original trilogy, I was very excited for this one, understanding it was not written by the initial author.
Yes, Baoshu is clearly a huge fan and has a great understanding of the source material. Yes, I enjoyed the loose ends that were tied up.
However, this felt rushed in places I thought deserved more time, and dragged out in others that wound up losing me. To me, these parts felt like a physics flex from the author.
Sadly, with 2 hours left, I was begging for it to end because I feel strongly about finishing what I start.
Sorry, I wanted to live this one.

Just not sure about this one.
