À propos de cet audio

Wall Street Journal Bestseller

In this groundbreaking book, New York Times bestselling author Steven Kotler decodes the mystery of ultimate human performance. Drawing on over a decade of research and first-hand reporting with dozens of top action and adventure sports athletes like big wave legend Laird Hamilton, big mountain snowboarder Jeremy Jones, and skateboarding pioneer Danny Way, Kotler explores the frontier science of “flow”, an optimal state of consciousness in which we perform and feel our best.

Building a bridge between the extreme and the mainstream, The Rise of Superman explains how these athletes are using flow to do the impossible and how we can use this information to radically accelerate performance in our own lives.

At its core, this is a book about profound possibility; about what is actually possible for our species; about where - if anywhere - our limits lie.

I listened to this book because I also listened to the book "The Art of the Impossible " by the same author. He referenced TROS often. How he'd invested 15 years in its development, so I figured it must be good. It was ok...I enjoyed his later book The Art of the Impossible much more.

OK

I've listened to this book several times now, and each time I see its application in new areas of my life. The implications are profound, and the harnessing of the Flow State maybe one of the most important developments in human history. Highly recommend this book. Thank you Steven kotler!

Powerful! Transcends Disciplines

great stories about adventurers in the flow zone. I would have liked more about how to get into flow in the common non-physical setting.

great adventure

amazing book - only comment is narrator is bit annoying at times when impersonating extreme sports athletes ie surfers and skiers etc.

Narrator voice is bit annoying however book rocks!

Amazing book for anyone that enjoys extreme sports and even if you don't it's still a great listen but may become boring at points

Listen, I liked him from Joe Rogan Experience - but this book was too heavy on redundant stories of extreme sport athletes (i.e. fluff) without much substance, which I was hoping would be actionable advice about the flow state.

Was excited for actionable advice, but....

I read stealing fire which truly made me stop and think about the same content this book has. I would either listen to this one first. Or skip it and go right to stealing fire

Stealing fire says it all

Was hoping for more science and more actionable advice for entering a flow state while working or studying. The book is full of extreme sports stories. Which start off very interesting but are so numerous and redundant that it gets boring. Taking up space where the author could be providing more science backed perspective or actionable day to day cues.

A book about extreme sports athletes
